PHoto- España brings The Sartorialist to Spain

 

We have the chance, during this summer, to enjoy Scott Schuman work, the man behind the blog ‘The Sartorialist’, at the Loewe main store in Madrid.

I’m a follower of his urban- style photos, not only fashion focused on, which includes a huge range of ages, sizes and faces from cities all around the world.

Límites

Y ahora ¿qué?

 

La imagen de este post es una de tantas que se pueden tomar en muchas de nuestras ciudades desde hace un tiempo (Dos mil ocho, quizá???). El boom del crecimiento y la construcción parece que se acabó, así, de repente y sin la previsión necesaria- según estamos viendo- y nos dejó pruebas de ello por todas partes.

Y ahora qué, hacia donde, a ninguna parte… Como esta calle, sus aceras absurdas y sus raquíticos árboles.

Mientras estaba ahí, haciendo esa foto, pensaba en el plano de urbanización que la habría definido y lo ajustadamente que quien la construyó cumplió con él hasta la misma línea que define el final de la ciudad, quien lo supervisó consideró que así quedaba bien terminada, seguro que alguien la inauguró y se felicitó por todo ello…

En fin, y ahí está, una de tantas pruebas de cómo ha quedado todo después del tiempo de “bonanza” que hemos estado viviendo…

Wednesday Indulgence

“Las bicicletas son para el verano”

‘Bicycles are for Summer’ is a great play from F. Fernan Gomez, a playwright I really admire. When the sun comes and I’m ready to have a ride in the evening I always remember that play (about a Spanish family during the Civil war, not so funny).

Next weekend I hope we’ll have a ride and take nice photos like this above of Ava Gardner, she looks so happy!
This is from a book titled ‘Hollywood rides a bike’, by Steven Rea,  I just discovered last Saturday at This magazine.

Feet on the ground

Today it’s been a cold and rainy Sunday here in Rioja, only 10ºC in the midday.

But it was only six days ago that we were enjoying this nice weather… not far from here!  So let's wait, summer will arrive soon... I hope!
